eduroam: a managed European service

Today eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is perceived as the roaming technology and at the same time as a service that provides secure and ubiquitous Internet access to the international research and education community.

This presentation provides information about eduroam's transition to a managed European service. Current results and future plans of eduroam service activity inside GEANT2 project and beyond are discussed.

Biography

Miroslav Milinović has been working, since 1987, in University Computing Centre (Srce), University of Zagreb where he is currently Assistant Director. He has been working as an associate in CARNet. He is the project leader of AAI@EduHr project, which has the main goal to maintain and further develop the AAI for academic and research community in Croatia. He has been leading Srce's research in the areas of middleware and web technologies.

Currently he participates in roaming and authorisation research activity (JRA5) and serves as eduroam service acitivity (SA5)leader inside GEANT2 project.

He actively participates in TERENA activities related to middleware. He also serves as TERENA Vice President Conferences.
