The NORDUnet conferences are always joint Nordic efforts. This year's conference is organized by SUNET and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
NORDUnet A/S is a non-profit company for Nordic research network collaboration between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden and Norway. NORDUnet links the Nordic research networks together and connects them to international research networks in Europe, the USA and the rest of the world.
NORDUnet was established in 1989 as a collaboration project, originating in the NORDUNET programme under the Nordic Council of Ministers. The organization was founded as a limited liability company in 1993.
SUNET stands for Swedish University Computer Network. It is a joint organization for the universities, which, without being its own juridical person, works towards the goal that University Sweden will always have access to a computer network that maintains a very good quality.
Todays university computer network is called GigaSunet and this provides Universities in Sweden with a capacity of 10 Gbit/sec. Swedish universities and university colleges have access to one of the world's best academic computer networks.
Chalmers University of Technology
Chalmers was founded in 1829 as the result of a donation from the Director of the Swedish East India Company, William Chalmers. His forwardly optimistic motto, which remains ours today, is: "Avancez!"
Chalmers University of Technology is a multifaceted academic and postgraduate university that conducts research and education across a wide front within the areas of technology, natural science and architecture. Our driving force is inspired by the joy of discovery and the desire for learning. Behind all that Chalmers accomplishes, the hope persists for participating in sustainable development - both nationally and globally.
