Building the UNINETT Optical Network

I will try to show how UNINETT`s DWDM network business model is built and what our choice criteria (shared network) have been. I will go through challenges and issues with this model. I will also try to give a status of the work done and what is remaining.

Biography

Kurosh Bozorgebrahimi has been working with the UNINETT, Network group since 2006. Besides the general networking activities he is currently participating in defining UNINETT's hybrid network.
From 1996 to 2006 he worked at Telenor where he participated in and managed various research and development projects within xDSL, Ethernet/NG-SDH and optical networking for Telenor Networks.
Kurosh received his Masters degree in Physical Electronics (Optical Communication) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 1995.
