Jørgen Qvist is responsible for the NUNOC.
The NUNOC organisation consist of tree teams:
- Network Operations Center (NOC)
- Optical Network Department
- IP Department
NUNOC is the 24x7 Operations organisation established by NORDUnet. to operate and support Optical and IP network infrastructure for the NORDIC Research & Educational network(s).
NUNOC is currently operating and supporting the NORDUnet fibre, optical and IP networks as well as the national Swedish Research & Educational network (SUNET), but is available for all NORDIC Research and Educational organisations with a 24x7 technical operations and support requirement.
The NUNOC Network Operations Centre is located at Tulegatan 11 in Stockholm, with a combined office and state of the art Hosting facility. The Network Operations Centre is supported by pan Nordic technology expert teams covering all aspects of IP and Optical networking.
Jørgen Qvist joined NORDUnet in August 2008. Before joining NORDUnet, having had is initial Telecommunications experience at TDC, he has spent +15 years in the Internet, Telecoms & IT industry, holding a variety of technical and managing positions at companies such as General Electric Information Services, MCI Worldcom and Butlernetworks.
Jørgen holds an EBA (Engineering Bus. Admin.) in Personal Communication and Presentation Techniques from Copenhagen College of Engineering, as well as Merconom, in Information Technology from Copenhagen Business School.
